Village Hall

Evenley Village Hall is a fantastic, versatile community space, established for the benefit of the local community. The main hall has a busy schedule of regular events and activities throughout the week, but is available for hire for private functions, musical events, meetings and commercial activities. A drinks licence can be arranged on request.

Village Hall Trustees – we currently have vacancies for two trustees to join the village hall management committee. It would be useful, although not essential, if interested parties had some DIY or Social media skills, but anyone who has the desire to help will be welcome. For more details, contact Eric Millard (Chairman) by email at [email protected] or by telephone on 705278.

Village Hall History

The current village hall (previously the village school), was sold to Evenley Parish Council in 1963.  The hall, although not listed lies within the conservation area and is designated as ‘an important other building’ and it is managed by the Village Hall management committee.

The site of the current village hall is not the first location for a village hall in Evenley. In fact the original village hall was located in what we today know as the village shop.  This was originally gifted to Evenley Parish Council in 1960 by Mr Antony William Allen.  Later this building was sold on and the current village hall building was purchased in 1963, previously run as the village school.

There are a wide variety classes that are open to the public and run regularly at the hall including Pilates, Sing & Sign, Yoga, Challenge Parkinsons, Tai Chi plus several local clubs/societies including the Film Club, Table Tennis, Women’s Institute,  Gardening Society and Flower Club to list just a few.

The  hall has excellent changing/shower facilities which makes it an ideal venue for supporting sporting activities on the village green, especially Evenley Cricket Club.

The hall, after undergoing a massive refurbishment in 1999, is available for bookings up to a maximum of 100 people (less if sitting).

The brass sundial on the front of the village hall was donated by the Evenley branch of the Women’s Institute to commemorate the Millennium.
